We are committed to do all we can to protect the planet and to help others combat climate change.

Our plan is to Think Big about what we can do - now and in future - to limit the level of harmful CO2 that's emitted by our operations.

At the same time, we want to inspire our customers and employees to make positive lifestyle changes that reduce energy use and cost the environment less.

During the year, our sustainability partner, Forum for the Future continued to assess our efforts. Forum's sustainable leadership model measures our performance and guides our initiatives.

In 2009, the Forum recognised O2 in the UK as a 'performer'. We aim to reach leadership by 2012 and become the frontrunner in UK telecoms. Our plans include getting our own house in order. We want to continually reduce our carbon emissions by operating as efficiently as possible.

We also want to work closely with our peers, suppliers, other businesses and communities to act on CO2.

With Forum, we are looking at all our products and services from 'cradle to grave' to find ways to reduce our effects.
