Welcome to Telefónica O2 UK’s Sustainability Report 2009.

Our aim is to Think Big about how we can influence wide social and environmental change.

We want to draw on the collective power of our technology, customers, employees and communities to make a much bigger difference than we could do on our own.

Our plan is to champion sustainable business growth, through:

  • Greener products for our customers.
  • Services that reduce our impact on the environment.
  • Social projects that inspire communities, especially young people.
  • A culture that makes sustainable thinking a way of life for O2 employees.
  • Continually reducing our carbon emissions and operating as efficiently as we can.

In 2009 we set out on this new strategy to Think Big, launching a range of initiatives and looking closely at what more we can do - now and in the future.

We measure our performance against stretching targets and report publicly every year. This report covers our activities for the year ended December 31, 2009. It describes our business, progress and future targets.
