Reporting and assurance
This online resource, together with our printed reviews, form the Telefónica O2 Europe plc Corporate Responsibility Report 2006.

In it we disclose some of our key targets, actions and progress for the calendar year 2006.

O2 affects the social and physical environments in which we operate. While our activities create significant benefits, they also bring risks that have implications for society and the future of our business. These are described as 'material' corporate responsibility matters.

We report on both material industry issues and on areas where our impact is minor. Our corporate responsibility reporting is guided by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) G3 Sustainability Reporting Guidelines, for which a cross reference table is included online.

The most material social, environmental and ethical issues are covered in detail in this online resource and in our printed reviews. Order your copy here.

Ernst & Young LLP provide external assurance and commentary on O2's 2006 Corporate Responsibility Report.

During 2006 we continued to keep a close eye on how we are viewed, by analysing media and market research reports and the views of our employees and opinion leaders. This establishes a priority list of key material issues. Ernst & Young has agreed that our conclusions are consistent with available evidence and that we are reporting on the most material issues.

In 2006 they were:

Pricing and regulation
Adapting to technology change
Customer satisfaction
Child protection
Data protection and privacy
Climate change and environmental management
Health and our network
Employee ethics
