Safeguarding the Company's good name is part of every employee's job.
We ask every employee to comply with our Business Principles, the ethical code that governs the way we work with each other and in the marketplace.
Our principles commit us to provide fairly priced and dependable products and services for our customers. They also actively encourage us to build strong and sustainable relationships with the communities in which we operate.
We look for compliance with our Business Principles and encourage others who work with us to embrace them as well, by referring to our Business Principles in our commercial contracts.
During the year we shared this practice with our parent company, which has since launched an improved set of Business Principles across the Telefónica Group. The changes for O2 employees were subtle and our training programme unaffected.
We continued the expansion of our 15 mandatory online training courses, including Business Principles, across Telefónica O2 Europe during the year. The training will be enhanced for Germany in 2007 and is planned for the Czech Republic and Slovakia in 2007. All new employees must achieve accreditation in compliance training and refresh their training every two years.
It is a requirement that all O2 employees comply with our gifts and hospitality policy.
We are members of the Institute of Business Ethics (IBE) and believe we are industry leaders in setting standards for ethical conduct.
