O2 has a large number of local and international suppliers who provide a wide range of goods and services, from office consumables to network infrastructure, and from temporary staff to full-scale outsourced contractors.
We expect our suppliers to operate to at least the same standards as we set ourselves in our Business Principles and to comply with our Ethical and Environmental Procurement Policies.
We are committed to behaving responsibly and to taking full account of the social, environmental and ethical impact of our business. We therefore spell out our commitments publicly, set targets annually, monitor and measure our effectiveness and progress, and encourage others throughout the supply chain to meet the same goals.
To help implement our goals, we are adopting industry-standard tools and processes for assessing and monitoring suppliers and we will expect them to respond openly to any follow-up verification queries and opportunities for improvement.
We take a risk-based approach to managing supply chain social and environmental issues, focusing on areas where we believe we can make a real difference, and we will work with our suppliers to help them to minimise the effects of their operations.
We expect our suppliers to agree to our standard Purchasing Terms. The criteria for awarding business to suppliers will vary by product category and will be set out at the time of a bidding process. The final decision is based on best overall value for O2.
We use technology to help us procure efficiently and have implemented e-sourcing capabilities in the business.
