As more than one third of mobile phone users in Britain opt to keep their existing handset, O2 launched "simplicity", a new range of pay monthly tariffs that provide O2’s best ever calling rates and can be ended on just 30 days notice at any time.
The growing prevalence of handset-happy mobile customers, who are satisfied with their current mobile and who don't want to be locked in for 18 months or more, has led O2 to expand the range of mobile deals to give O2 customers even greater choice.
Environmental awareness
With growing awareness of the carbon footprint involved in purchasing a new handset, more customers are opting to retain their existing phone and save the potential 7.5 kilograms of CO2 emissions that come with a new device (that's equivalent to 34 beach balls of CO2). And what’s more for every online simplicity tariff taken with paperless bill O2 are donating £5 to the O2 Energy Saver Fund administered by The Energy Saving Trust.
