Our business is changing. More mobile customers are accessing the internet, downloads, picture messaging, games and other second generation, or GPRS services. With all our services, we aim to have the capability to meet customer expectations consistently.

As our network rolls out and third generation applications take off, we are offering faster internet speeds on mobile, fixed line and WiFi. In addition, new machine-to-machine applications give us greater scope to make people’s lives easier and more convenient. 

During the year we launched the iPhone 3G and pioneered mobile transmission on the underground in Glasgow.

We reported on our Near Field Communications pay-by-mobile trials in London, showing that 78 per cent of trial users were interested in remote payment services by mobile.

We also introduced simpler pricing for our consumer and business customers.
