While many people want faster, more cost-efficient and multi-functional products that help them to enjoy and organise their work, family and social lives, others want simpler products that are more affordable or address their social and environmental concerns.

We aim to give our customers a wide choice of products and applications. We also encourage sustainable lifestyle choices, for example through retaining and recycling our products.

Our 11 key projects include plans to develop more green devices and to encourage take-up of our low-energy mobile phone charger which reduces power consumption once a battery is fully charged, even when a plug socket is switched on.

At the same time, the roll out of our network enables us to offer increasingly sophisticated services at less cost to the environment.

According to the Datamonitor company Ovum, if 100 million customers in Europe received their phone bills online, it could save 109,100 tonnes of CO2 per year. Wider use of video and audio conferencing, rather than travel, could additionally save the planet over 20 million tonnes.
