Corporate responsibility report 2004

Action to address key issues

We aim to listen to concerns and take action to address them
During 2003/04 we have continued to engage with stakeholders, actively instigating debate about new issues and responding to real concerns. You can see the main issues that confront us as a business by clicking on the links to the left of the screen. In this section of the report we describe the action we have taken in three specific areas. They are:
Image title: Mast siting. Image text: "We would urge you to reconsider the siting of this mast because the local community have is very upset!". Image title: Engaging with employees. Image text: "It's about whether you say to your friends 'I work for O2' or you say 'I work for the phone industry'" Image title: Child protection. Image text: What time will u b home?
We aim to consult communities on where we site our communication masts. We have signed up to the industry codes on responsible mast siting. The UK code – the Ten Commitments – was independently reviewed in 2003. More >
We want our employees to feel proud to work for O2 and we aim to treat them in a way that reflects our core values – to be bold, open, trusted and clear. Our employees have told us how we can make O2 a more responsible business. More >
We were among the first to alert people to concerns about pornography, inappropriate contacts on mobile phones and the dangers of mobile related bullying and crime. We help young people use their phones safely and help parents understand the technology. More >
