Corporate responsibility report 2004

Accessibility

As part of our commitment to continuously improve the level of accessibility within our corporate website, we have designed the online version of our 2004 corporate responsibility report to be available and inclusive for all user groups.
The report has been developed in line with the RNIB's 'See it Right' accessibility guidelines which includes priority levels 1, 2 and 3 of the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI), part of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

This section outlines some of the accessibility features that we have provided for users and guidance on how to use them.
mmO2.com/cr2004 has been optimized to be viewed on either Internet Explorer 4.0 or above, or Netscape Communicator 4.0 or above, at a minimum screen resolution of 800 x 600.
- The colour combinations have been checked to ensure appropriate colour contrast.
- The pages are not based on frames and can therefore be printed easily by clicking on the print button within the Internet browser.
- Text equivalents have been provided for every non-text element and ALT text tags provided for all images. Page and table header tags have also been included.
-   The key website navigation links are 'Responding to your views', 'Our businesses', 'Performance report' and 'Highlights'. These are all in text for improved readability. This primary navigation is supported by the left hand navigation which allows users to access deeper content areas.
- All navigation has been designed to be as user-friendly as possible, allowing all site content to be viewed within the minimum number of mouse clicks. It is also possible to access pages of the site by using the 'Search' function or, the 'Site map'.
- Navigation routes have been developed to be as accessible as possible and compatible with the types of adaptive technology used by people with disabilities, including screen readers.
-   All text sizes within the content pages and navigation have been set to relative sizes, which can be increased or decreased for more comfortable screen reading. Colours can be changed by users for improved readability. These can be altered in your Web browser.
-   Clear English StandardThe Site has been accredited by the Plain English Society in recognition of the straightforward and jargon-free content contained within the site. It is intended that the user is able to read, understand and act upon it, the first time they read it.
