Working with Telefónica

With the takeover by Telefónica, we have begun a complementary approach to corporate responsibility. In 2006 we started to identify best practice and to add value to our activities through shared resources and ideas. A number of common interests have emerged, including child protection and safety, serving people with disabilities, education, and ethical procurement.

Together we recognise the benefits of a global approach. But our strategy enables each business to focus on its own local concerns and communities where material issues may differ.

We aim to operate in the spirit of progress for our stakeholders and to ensure the sustainability of our businesses and the communities we serve. We want to:

  • Provide safe, useful and valued services that earn our customers’ loyalty.
  • Bring the fast-evolving benefits of telecommunications to society as a whole.
  • Work with all our stakeholders, including employees, to bring to life our commitment to being responsible and accountable.
  • Seek long-term sustainability - and competitive advantage - from our corporate responsibility activities.
  • Cement and develop our local ties.
  • Adapt successful initiatives in other markets.
  • Adopt best practice across the business.

At the heart of this strategy is our customer promise and a goal to turn our customers into fans of O2 by offering the best service in our marketplace.
