Base station (cell site) diesel consumption - totala and per base stationb
a) Many network base stations (cell sites) are equipped with emergency generators. These are only operated during short periods in the event of power failures and during testing. 2004/05 data for Manx Telecom and Airwave only. 2005/06 data for Manx Telecom, Airwave and O2 UK only.
b) Manx Telecom and Airwave had 3,340 base stations at the end of FY 2004/05. Manx Telecom, Airwave and O2 UK had 13,751 at the end of March 2006.
