Corporate Responsibility report 2005/06

Bribery and corruption

O2’s Business Principles bar employees from accepting gifts, hospitality, bribes or other inducements that encourage or reward a business decision.

O2 employees must comply with our gifts and hospitality policy.

Our rules stipulate the need for honesty in all our dealings and an understanding that we keep to our commitments. Our employees are asked to declare conflicts of interest that may lead to divided personal loyalties.

As part of our commitment to meet high ethical standards, we encourage our suppliers to refer directly to O2’s Business Principles and expect our business partners to meet the same standards as us.

We award business solely on merit and without favouritism.

Our is based on the Ethical Trading Initiative Base Code, the standards of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Labour Organisation conventions. We look for assurance that suppliers are not relying on forced labour, do not use child workers, pay living wages, offer acceptable working hours, and provide safe and healthy working conditions, without harsh or inhumane practices.
