O2 Ability Awards

In Ireland we sponsored the first O2 Ability Awards, run by the Aisling Foundation, which was screened on RTE Television.

O2 Ability Awards LogoThe O2 Ability Awards were founded by Caroline Casey, who is herself visually impaired, to encourage employers to demonstrate best practice when employing people with disabilities. Caroline works tirelessly to communicate the importance of recognising the benefits of employees who do things differently and the skills they have to offer in the workplace.

We are proud to sponsor an event so well linked to our own initiatives and, as part of the Awards, we were assessed on our own policies. We are now working across all areas of the business to improve accessibility within O2 Ireland.

Conor Brennan, Director of Brand and Chamber Development, Chambers of Commerce of Ireland.

"O2 has been consistently involved in community activity throughout Ireland. Their recent partnership on the national [02] Ability Awards is to be particularly commended; we are strongly supportive of any initiative which sees people with disabilities integrated into the work environment, where their skills and talents can be best used by Irish businesses."

At the inaugural Presidents Awards for Corporate Scocial Responsibility (CSR) from the Chambers of Commerce of Ireland: O2 was commended 'for sustained success in implementing good practice CSR across all aspects of O2's activies.'
