Fifteen of the world's leading mobile operators signed a code of practice in February 2006 to work collectively to minimise spam - unsolicited messages - sent via text and picture messages.
The code commits us to investigate cases of mobile spam transmitted across mobile networks and to take action where appropriate. It includes anti-spam conditions with all new third-party contracts to enable us to terminate contracts with spammers.
The new code also requires us to offer customers a clear and efficient way to opt out of unwanted marketing messages (see www.o2.com/cr/responsible_marketing.asp for details).
