Fire risk recall
In March 2006 O2 recalled and replaced nearly 30,000 O2 X1 handsets after three incidents of the model overheating while recharging. We asked our customers to return the phone, charger and battery immediately, and we put a call bar on all O2 X1 handsets. Our actions were in line with our policies on the health and safety of customers and employees. All customers were offered the opportunity to exchange the faulty handset for the O2 x2i.
