We want to offer more opportunities for people with disabilities at O2.
The same goes for people who normally find it hard to break through some of the social barriers to gaining employment, such as the over-50s.
In the UK we are members of the Employers’ Forum on Disability and the Two Ticks scheme, which supports disabled people in the workplace. We are also working with the Shaw Trust in the UK, a national charity, to ensure we are providing the right facilities and support for disabled people.
In Ireland, we began a programme of diversity and disability awareness training in 2005. All line managers in O2 Ireland undergo disability awareness training.
The O2 Ability Awards are designed to raise awareness of best practice in recruiting and employing people with disabilities.
