Two billion mobile phones are now in use worldwide, and in some countries they outnumber people. This rapid growth of mainstream mobile communications has affected everyone, bringing challenges and responsibilities for mobile operators – from protecting the young and vulnerable to matters of national security and individual privacy.

This Mobile matters website looks at how mobile phones can enrich our everyday lives and considers the key issues, asking if O2 and the rest of the industry are doing enough to tackle them.
