February 2008: O2 UK confirmed its position as one of the country's top employers by finishing 6th at the prestigious 'Sunday Times 2008 Best Big Companies to Work For' awards.

May 2007: O2 UK named amongst the top 50, great places to work in the Best places to work logoUK, in a leading company survey.

Organised by the 'Great Place to Work'® Institute, the Financial Times survey saw O2 benchmarked against UK companies - of any size. O2 was ranked as one of four companies, with over 10,000 employees, to make it into the top 50. The 'Best Workplace' list recognises organisations that are committed to a positive work environment for their people.

March 2007: O2 named one of the UK's top employers
 
O2 has been named as one of the UK's top employers by being ranked fifth in 'The Sunday Times 2007 Best Big Companies to Work For' list. The full listing of companies will be published within a Sunday Times supplement on Sunday, 11 March. Best big companies 2007
 
Dominic Mahony, HR Director, who attended the awards on behalf of O2 said: “It feels very good to be recognised by the Sunday Times awards. Together we’re all putting lots of effort into making our company a great place to work and this result indicates that the things we’re doing are working. We should all be proud of this news and continue to make O2 an even better place to work".
 
In addition, O2 was also short-listed in the “best for giving something back” category and was also top in the “best for well being” category.

About the Sunday Times Best Companies survey
The Sunday Times Best Companies survey is undertaken once a year and seeks to recognise the best companies to work for in the UK.

The Sunday Times awards ranking is based on an assessment of workplace culture, practices and how employees feel about where they work. The survey was sent to 3,000 people across the O2 Group and over 1,500 of our people responded.

Best Place to Work UK

May 2006: O2 UK named among the top 30 'Great Places to Work' within the UK in a leading company survey. O2 achieved 26th place in the top 50 list published in the Financial Times, and organised by the Great Place to work® institute. The 'Best Workplace' list recognises organisations that are committed to maintaining a positive work environment for their people.

Telefónica O2 Ireland

March 2006: O2 Ireland wins 'Best Company to Work for in Ireland'. The award recognises businesses where the employees trust the people they work for, have pride in what they do and enjoy their work. The judges looked at culture, terms and benefits. In addition, O2 Ireland employees were surveyed to measure the level of trust, credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie in the company.

April 2005: O2 Ireland recognised as the 'Best Big Employer to Work for in Ireland'. O2 was ranked in the top 10 best companies to work for in Ireland at the annual 'Best Companies Awards' ceremony. O2 also won the overall award for the best company with more than 1,000 employees. O2 beat more than 150 companies to receive the prestigious accolade.

O2 Germany

Deutschlands Beste Arbeitgeber 2005

May 2006: Daily newspaper, tz, reported on its survey to find 'Europe’s Best Employers'. O2 Germany achieved the highest placing of the 18 German entries.  The company also made the top ten. Particular emphasis was given to the extensive sports facilities available at the company's headquarters. In addition, team spirit was encouraged by joint activities and good ideas were rewarded with a bonus.

February 2005: O2 Germany was listed among the top 15 medium-sized employers in Germany by the 'Great Place to Work' Institute.
