2009

Telefónica O2 Germany introduces O2 o, a revolutionary tariff with no basic fee and no fixed contract.

2008

'The O2' in London celebrates its first birthday, while 'The O2' opens in Dublin and O2 World opens in Berlin.

2007

Apple iPhone is launched in the UK exclusively on O2 and Telefónica partners with Yahoo! to bring global mobile services to over 100 million customers.

2006

O2 launches in the Czech Republic and announces its best ever quarterly customer growth in the UK and Germany, with O2 Germany now topping 10 million customers.

2005

O2 and Anschutz Entertainment Group unveil 'The O2' and sign an exclusive mobile content and music deal.

2004

The group reports its first pre-tax profit with a profit of £95 million. O2 Germany launches 3G.

2003

O2 Online signs up its one millionth customer and O2 Germany tops five million customers.

2002

mmO2 successfully completes a £1bn bond issue and launches the O2 consumer brand, while O2 in the UK breaks the text messaging record.

2001

mmO2 demerges from BT to become an independent, wholly owned company.
